This unit requires the learner to demonstrate personal awareness and knowledge of health and safety legislative requirements in order to work safely and prevent injury or harm to self and others. It covers:
The unit meets the general construction induction training requirements of Part 1.1 and Part 6.5 of the Model WHS Regulations, Division 1 of Part 6.5 of the WHS (General) Regulations 2022 (WA), and Division 3 of Part 5.1 of the OHS Regulations 2017 (VIC).

There are no entry requirements for this program.
A valid Unique Student Identifier (USI) is required for issuance of the Statement of Attainment unless the learner is exempt. Visit usi.gov.au.
Flexible payment arrangements are available to accommodate individual circumstances — contact SIT for details. Fees must be paid in full before the certification document is issued. Payment options include credit card, direct debit and EFT remittance. Fees are applied and communicated to clients prior to enrolment in accordance with the Standards for RTOs 2025.
This program is delivered via face-to-face classroom mode, combining theory and demonstration sessions supported by practical activities. Detailed learning, assessment and reference materials are provided.
The program is offered as a one-day program of 7 hours. An option of 2 × 3.5-hour half-day sessions delivered within a two-week period may be available — please contact SIT Administration. Learners are expected to undertake a few hours of self-directed study.

Assessment takes place in a classroom environment with access to suitable PPE that meets state/territory requirements. The facility is equipped in accordance with the training package, including fire blankets, fire extinguishers, hose reels, and PPE such as:
Learners are provided with unit notes, student workbooks, PowerPoint handouts, computers with Office Suite, and relevant training-package documentation.
Credit Transfer (CT) recognises units of competency already completed and formally awarded through nationally recognised training. CT does not involve assessment of skills — it is granted on verified records. Learners must provide verifiable transcripts and/or statements of attainment (including an online viewable USI transcript).
CT is provided at no additional cost, but the White Card Fee and Application Fee still apply. Contact SIT to apply.
This unit provides credit toward a number of qualifications across multiple training packages. Completion makes participants eligible for the White Card — a pre-requisite for entry to all construction worksites.
Upon successful completion, students receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for CPCWHS1001. A valid USI is required for issuance unless the learner is exempt.
The training delivery facility is at 22 Degrees Rd, Greenvale VIC 3059, Australia. In other delivery locations including Melbourne and Craigieburn in Victoria, or other states/territories, similar facilities are arranged by SIT depending on the learner group's location. Contact SIT for further details. SIT is responsible for compliance and training & assessment — there are no third-party training providers involved.
